Nancy Kay Downes, 63, of Morrison, passed away March 29, 2017.
She was born March 26, 1954 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Wendell and Signa (Jones) Bowser.
She was a graduate of South High School. She received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from University of Northern Colorado.
She enjoyed playing harp and piano and won a lot of awards for her piano playing when she was younger. She was also a sharpshooter and won an Annie Oakley award when she was younger.
She was married to Francis "Frank" Downes and they spent 17 wonderful years together. During their 17 years together they traveled to Paris, Ireland, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Denmark and throughout the United States.
Nancy was a member of the NRA. She was also a Registered Nurse for her lifetime. Nursing was her lifelong passion.
Nancy was an avid gardener, quilter and costume-maker. She also was a stained-glass artist. Nancy had a soft spot in her heart for animals, hummingbirds, and bees. Her favorite place was BoJo, her cabin in the mountains. Nancy was a woman of faith. She was very selfless, caring for others before herself. Her favorite color was purple. Above all, she will be remembered as a devoted mother, sister, and Nana.
Nancy is survived by Daughter, Shanyn M. (Joseph) Cascia; Son, Jason (Laurie) Pickett; Two Step-Sons, Frank Downes and William Downes; Three Grandchildren, Lihnda Cascia-Rotunno, Reese Cascia-Rotunno and Haleigh Pickett; Two Brothers, Larry Bowser and Rick (Ruth) Bowser; Several nieces and nephews and her Beloved Doodle, Fozzie.
She is preceded in death by Husband, Francis "Frank" Downes; Mother, Signa Mae Bowser and Father, Wendell Lee Bowser.
