Nancy Lea Janssen, age 72, passed away at the Aurora Medical Center in Aurora, CO on Sunday August 2nd, 2026 from the complications of a massive stroke. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Janssen, parents Albert and Esther Strehlow, and brother Larry Strehlow. She is survived by her sister Rosella Limon, sister Betty Aschenbrener (Dick), sister ReNae Strehlow Flack (Floyd) and nieces Kris Murto, Marta Limon, Jody Martin and Emily Flack.
Nancy was born in Perham, Minnesota and her family later moved to Hastings, Minnesota. She graduated from Hastings High School and then moved to Denver, Colorado where she accepted a position in the trust department of First National Bank of Denver. She worked there many years and then took a position in the troubleshooting department of a health billing service, from which she retired in 2023.
Nancy was an avid TV sports fan. She loved the Broncos, professional golf and tennis. She also loved Taylor Swift and was a "Swiftie" at heart. Hallmark movies and Documentaries were her escapes to beautiful scenic places where she would have loved to travel.
Nancy was a generous and loving soul, not just to her family, but to charities as well. She and co-workers collected numerous boxes of new beautiful baby clothes, which she donated to a church that gave low-income mothers baby items for a new baby. She recently donated and helped fill backpacks for the homeless.
We will miss you Nancy, but we know you are safe and healthy again in your new home on the other side. With all our love, until we meet again.
