Nancy Kay Sherrill

Mrs. Nancy (Rice) Sherrill, born on September 7, 1936 in Greeley, Colorado, to the late Virgina (Cook) Rice and William Rice, passed away at age 88 on July 26th, 2025 in the comfort of her home in Byers, CO.

Nancy was a devoted wife, mother of four children, grandmother of six, great grandmother of eleven and great, great grandmother of five. She was a business owner with her husband, Jim Sherrill for over 50 years. She loved gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Nancy also enjoyed working at the bar, keeping the books for the business, and found peace and joy laying in the sun. She and her beloved husband Jim also loved to travel when time allowed. Nancy’s quiet inner strength and beautiful soul will be remembered forever.

Nancy was the loving wife to Jim for 62 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Sherrill, her daughter Cindy Sherrill, son Chris Sherrill, granddaughter Raelynn Sterrett and great grandson Michael Sterrett, her brother Jim Rice (Ronna) and sister Joni Spangler (Dick). Nancy is survived by her daughter, Pam Post (Dennis) and son Jason Sherrill (Tamara), grandchildren, Kristin Irey (Michael), Jenny Post, Patrick Post (Tia), Quincy Post, Christopher Sherrill (Page), Andrew Sherrill and great grandchildren Lacey Mendoza (Tyler), Austin Ward, Gavin Mullarkey, Zane Stowers, Hannah Sterrett (Dean), Cameron Turner, Bella Turner, Nathan Cole, Nicholas Post, Raelynn Post, Colton Post great, great grandchildren Audrey Mendoza, Lilianna Mendoza, Wyntier Mendoza, Oaklee Mendoza, and Ivar Becker.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Nancy’s name to Byers Fire Protection District No 9 (100 N. Main Street, Byers CO (720) 392-5009). Friends and family can pay their respects at the memorial service, officiated by Pastor Mike James, on Tuesday August 5th, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Mountain View Fellowship in Strasburg Colorado.
