Nichole Caviness

Nichole Renee’ Caviness, affectionately known as Nikki, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, at her home in Gunnison, Colorado. She was born on August 5, 1985, in Aurora, Colorado, and brought warmth, kindness, and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her. 

Nikki lived a life of compassion and generosity. She found her calling in nurturing, a trait that was evident in her role as a dedicated nanny and veterinary technician. Nikki’s unwavering commitment to the well being of her loved ones was a testament to her boundless compassion and empathy. Nikki’s love for dogs was a significant part of her life; she was a proud dog mom, cherishing the companionship and joy they brought her.

Nichole was preceded in death by her father, Richard Caviness. She is survived by her mother, Linda Caviness, and siblings, Jennifer Coria (Caviness), Kayla Pham (Caviness), and Jeffrey Caviness. She is also survived by a wide circle of nieces and nephews, and maternal grandparents, Patrica and George Smith, to which she meant the world to.

Nikki will be remembered for her gentle strength, her beautiful smile, and her remarkable ability to make others feel seen and valued. Though she will be deeply missed, her lessons, love, and legacy will continue in the lives she touched.
