Ora Marie Rose, 91, of Aurora, CO passed away January 15, 2015.
Ora was born on May 23, 1923 in Atlantic, Iowa to Oscar and Martha (McFadden) Havens. She is survived by two sisters, Obera Warford of Sacramento, CA, and Rose Mary Hill of Longmont, CO. She is also survived by four children, Bill Rose, Larry Rose (Gayle Nordeen), Frankie McGuire-Travis (Ken Matuska), and Ralph Rose (Pam), six Grandchildren, ten Great-Grandchildren, and one Great-Great Grandchild (and one on the way!), and the many, many nieces, and nephews from those generations. . She was preceded in death by her brother, Orville Havens.
Ora was a shell inspector in the munitions factories in Denver during WWII. She later had her own successful custom-made drapery company and even made draperies for the Governor's mansion! She lived in Iowa, Texas, Georgetown, CO and ultimately settled in Aurora, CO to raise her family. She loved to fish and camp, garden, sew and cook. She dedicated herself to her friends and family and never knew a stranger. She taught us all her beautiful way of loving life, and will be missed by all.
