With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Orville (Jim) Dow Whitt, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, who passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, at the age of 92. Jim was born on December 12, 1933, in Portsmouth, Ohio, and was the cherished son of Leslie and Ina Whitt.
Jim served in the United States Air Force for 4 years during the Korean and Vietnam wars. After completing his service, he met the love of his life Priscilla, in Denver, Colorado. Together they built a beautiful life over the course of 66 years.
Jim is survived by his wife, Priscilla, and their 3 children, Jimmy, Rich, and Sheryl, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister Lorraine Large, and a wide circle of family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Ina Whitt, as well as his siblings Leslie Jr., Curtis, Evelena, Wilma, and Gloria.
As we say goodbye to Jim, we remember a man who lived a full and meaningful life, enriched by the love of his family and friends. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten, as his love and wisdom continue to guide those that were fortunate enough to know him.
