George Herrera met Rosalie Valdez and married August 10, 1952. Both George and Rose’s family were from New Mexico and moved to Trinidad, CO in 1966. There they began their family but ultimately moved to Denver, CO. to raise their 7 children (Gloria, Charlotte, George, Chris, Joe, Bertha, Anita).
George served in the United States Army at the age of 16 and fought 5 major campaigns in the Korean War. He was wounded 3 times receiving 3 Purple Hearts. George was a dedicated warrior in battle and for the family. Rose was a faithful wife and mother raising their 7 children and other family members. Rose was a talented painter, artist, singer and musician. Rose came from a long line of musicians who played for many festivities in Southern Colorado and Northern New Mexico.
George and Rose lived in Denver, CO. until their passing. Both are now at rest together with our Lord and Savior.
