Patricia Ann Lacey, 72, of Georgetown, Colorado passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016.
Pat was born to the late Clark R. and Margaret C. Dinges on December 29, 1943 in Martinsburg, WV. Pat graduated from Charles Town Senior High School and went on to work for the CIA in Langley, VA before becoming a mother to her three daughters.
Pat moved to Colorado in 1993 and became an integral part of The Happy Cooker family in 1999. She wore many hats at the restaurant and had the unofficial title of "bread maker extraordinaire." Pat ensured that the restaurant was dressed for every season with her handmade decorations. Pat was always busy making beautiful handcrafted items that she gifted to loved ones, donated and sold at the restaurant. Pat filled her scarce free time with her involvement in local quilting and crafting clubs where she shared her expertise and often made items that were donated to help bring joy and comfort to others.
Pat's role as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was most important to her, and this is where she drew her strength and left her legacy. Pat was forever steadfast, loyal and never gave up on anything. Pat put her entire being into raising and providing for her daughters and left behind her legacy of love, bravery, perseverance and strength.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Clark and Margaret, and her sister, Alice, and is survived by her brothers, Herbert and Charles Dinges, both of WV. Also left to honor Pat and remember her love are her three daughters, Michelle Anne Johns of Capon Bridge, WV, Jenette Lillian Lacey of Idaho Springs, CO and Dianna Elizabeth Lacey Speir of Frostburg, MD, her six grandchildren, David Knotts, Jessica Thomas, Derek Knotts, Dylan Johns, Christian Speir and Evan Speir and her four great-grandchildren, Lillian Thomas, Marcus Knotts, Alexis Thomas and Lucas Thomas. Pat will also be greatly missed by other family members, friends and all who knew her.
There will be a celebration of her life planned for a later date, which will be announced to family and friends in Colorado and West Virginia.
