On June 2, 2012, Paul Ferkovich passed away peacefully at his home in Bennett, Colorado. Paul was born in Pueblo, Colorado in 1941, the only child of Delphine and Edward Ferkovich. Paul was raised in Raton, New Mexico, and graduated from New Mexico State University in 1960. He had a wonderful variety of careers over his life, first as a Game Warden for the state of New Mexico, then as an instructor pilot in Santa Fe, New Mexico, a pilot for the State Police of New Mexico, and finally an airline pilot with Aspen Airways.
Paul is survived by his children, Beth Perry, Bobby Ferkovich, and Marissa Ferkovich, and 4 grandchildren, Alicia, Lauren, and Talley Perry, and Megan Ferkovich. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life and no one was excluded from hearing a boastful story about one or more of them. Paul also cherished his daily emails with his cousin Jack and Jack's wife Diane, as well as daily calls and emails with a variety of cherished friends from school and the airlines he flew for.
A private, family ceremony will be held this summer in northern New Mexico, when all the kids and grandkids can say their final goodbyes.
