Paul Ray Pearson

April 27, 1937 — March 2, 2014

Yogie, 76, died of pulmonary complications (ARDS) following heart surgery on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver.
His memorial will be held at the Byers American Legion Hall at 11:30 a.m. Friday the 14th of March. Please join us in celebrating and remembering his life.
Paul was born in Coahoma, Mississippi on April 27, 1937, to B.J and Mary Pearson. He served in the U. S. Army as a Paratrooper in the 187th Airborne. He also spent 4 years in the U.S. Navy. After moving to Colorado he became owner/proprietor of Masonry Homes and retired in 2000. During retirement he traveled with his wife and they were members of the Colorado, Kansas, and National Cushman Clubs, and the Model A Club.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Pearson, along with his children Paul (Margo) Pearson Jr., Kerri (Pearson) Duncan, Kasey (Mike) Taylor, James (Tonya) Goble III, Christina (Clay) Dawkins, Tamalea Thomas, Cadence and Xaiver Pearson. Grand children include Jessica and Joshua Pearson; Dusti, Melynda, Slade, and Paige Duncan; Jessica Taylor; Samantha, Amethest, Tristin, and Nathaniel Goble; Dustin, Tiffany, Trevor, and Teagan Dawkins; and great grandchildren Kaileigh, Connor and Colton who is expected in May.
Paul was a wonderful Husband, Father, and friend. He will be missed by many because he was loved by all. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org or Kempe Foundation for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect at kempe.org
