Pauline Vonna Smith, 78, of Denver, passed away August 7, 2015. She was born August 4, 1937 in Denver, CO, the daughter of Lt. Col. Basil and Rozella (McIntyre) Otey. She was a graduate of East High School, and attended Colorado State University.
An avid sports fan, Pauline enjoyed Rockies, Avalanche and Bronco games with a passion! She was a master seamstress and quilter. In addition to the numerous quilts she made for family over the years; her quilting group donated many to hospital nurseries. Pauline was a caring, loving, and generous person who had a strong faith. After retirement, she volunteered for ESL education (English as a Second Language) and children's programs at her church. Pauline had a soft spot for all animals and was a life-time contributor to the Denver Dumb Friends League.
Pauline is survived by three daughters; Jennie Carrizales, Julie Smith, and Alicia Kelley; one son, Zane (Shanna) Smith; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Lt. Col. Basil Otey; mother Rozella Otey; and brothers John and Ted Otey.
