Philip E. Grommet, Viii

Philip E. "Phil" Grommet, VIII, 86, of Lakewood, passed away November 10, 2015.

He was born March 16, 1929 in Denver, Colorado, the son of Philip and Agnes (Poppish) Grommet. He was a graduate of Annunciation High School in Denver. He attended college for one year, before joining the US Army. He proudly served his country from January 1951 to October 1953. Phil worked and lived for many years in Marshalltown, Iowa. He worked for the Swift Company for 42 years. On May 17, 2002 he married Ruth Mason, of Lakewood, Colorado.

Philip is survived by his wife, Ruth; children, Philip E. (Vicki) Grommet, IX, Anna Marie (Rick) Williams, Mark (Connie) Grommet. He is preceded in death by father, Philip E. Grommet, VII, mother, Agnes Grommet, first wife, Eva Grommet, son, Andy Grommet and sisters, Agnes and Joanne. He is also survived by step-children, Debbie (Tom) Grande, Donald (Lynn) Mason, Joseph (Gloria) Mason and James (Cindy) Mason; brother, Leonard Grommet, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
