Philip Wayne Hueston

July 22, 1948 — September 8, 2017

Philip Wayne Hueston, 69, of Aurora, passed away September 8, 2017.

He was born July 22, 1948 in Clinton, Indiana, the son of James Robert and Wilma (Sherman) Hueston. He was a graduate of Westville High School in Westville, Illinois. After graduating from high school, Phil enlisted into the United States Navy from 1966-1968. He was an aircraft mechanic on the aircraft carrier USS Ranger, serving during the Vietnam War. When returning from the service, Phil worked for United Airlines in Chicago, IL., later he transferred to Denver, Colorado. On May 5, 1984 he married Beverly Deming, of Aurora, Colorado. Phil totaled 48 years of service to United Airlines; he also served as Union President for several years. Over these 48 years, Phil developed a great rapport with his co-workers and management. It was quite apparent when over 200 co-workers/management visited Phil while in the hospital. All had great stories to tell and all had utmost respect and admiration for Phil. All clearly expressed what an honor it was to know Phil and work with him. Many left with a heavy heart and tears. This was a beautiful tribute to Phil and to his family.

Phil loved the outdoors and living in Colorado provided him many opportunities to pursue his passions of hunting, fishing, skiing, and golfing. He also loved going back to Indiana in the spring to fish, hunt, and mushroom at his cousin John's cabin and enjoyed many family reunions in Illinois and Indiana. He loved reminiscing childhood memories while sitting on the porch of the cabin. Phil was a genuine family man and enjoyed spending time with them going to the Rockies/Broncos games. Phil was an avid fan of baseball and football. He coached youth football and little league baseball. All who knew him knew his passion for playing cards, especially euchre. He was also a member of the Westville American Leagion, volunteered for the USO and helped raise money for many charities.

"The wise man does not lay up his own treasures. The more he gives to others, the more he has for his own." Phil's legacy will live on in the hearts of all whose lives he touched.

Phil is survived by his wife, Beverly Deming; mother, Wilma Hueston; daughter, Suzanne Deming; son, John Deming; two grandchildren, Zachary (Christina) Hill and Tara Hill; great-grandchild, Zachary Hill; brother, Robert (Brenda) Hueston; sister, Sharon Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, James Robert Hueston.
