Phillip Arthur Mills

Phillip Arthur Mills, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away on November 1, 2025, at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado at the age of 75.

Phillip was born on February 8, 1950, in Watervliet, Michigan, son of Monroe Sidney Mills and Donna Mae Mills (Kroshinski). Phillip and his four brothers, Paul, Jonathon, Mark and Matthew shaped their lives and character working the family farm in Lawrence, Michigan with their father. Phillip moved to Colorado after graduating from the University of Michigan in 1971.

Phillip married Joan Marie Petrich and was the proud father of two sons, Phillip Monroe Joseph and Adam Christopher, who are both very intelligent and handsome and became responsible for their father’s estate and obituary after his passing.

Later in his life, Phillip married Joyce Ann Anderson, with whom he shared a joy of dancing and various shooting sports.

Phillip enjoyed a long career working in property management, finally retiring from Western States Property Services, a company he founded. This allowed Phil to finally spend as much time on the skeet and sporting clays ranges which he so enjoyed as he’d like. Phillip served as President of the Colorado Skeet Shooting Association for several years as well as serving on the boards for several gun clubs around the Denver area.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Donna, his twin brother Paul and his wife, Joyce.

Phillip is survived by his children Adam and Phillip (Lia) Mills, and grandchildren Abigail, Caleb and Phoebe.

Services

A memorial service will be held at Newcomer Cremations and Funeral-East Metro in Aurora, Colorado at 1pm on Thursday, December 4th, 2025; a video stream will be available for those unable to attend in person. Phillip’s remains will be interred at the Monroe family plot in South Haven, Michigan.
