In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Wife and Mother Pastor Phyllis Delores Montoya, Age 85 With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and dear friend, Pastor Phyllis Delores Montoya. She was a blessing to her family and to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her love and presence will be deeply missed.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her mother, Julia S. Longbone (Raymond); her brother, Ernest Morales; and her daughter, Elizabeth Quinones- Vargas. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 58 years, Reverend Lawrence Montoya; her children, Rudy Ornelas (Sylvia), John Ornelas Sr, Ernie Ornelas, Louise Cortez (Rudy), and Julie Montoya; along with many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Phyllis shared 58 beautiful years of marriage with the love of her life, Reverend Lawrence Montoya. Together, they dedicated themselves to soul-winning, prayer, and ministry, serving their family and countless others through their unwavering faith in God. Since 1990, she faithfully served our Lord Jesus Christ as a nondenominational Christian pastor throughout the Denver metro area. Her devotion to God and her desire to help others were central to the life she lived and the legacy she leaves behind. Above all, Phyllis was a loving wife and mother who treasured her family. She was a source of comfort, strength, kindness, and unconditional love. Her gentle spirit, warm heart, and generous nature touched the lives of so many. The memories she created and the love she shared will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Phyllis found great joy in cooking and sharing her favorite dishes with family and friends. Whether at family gatherings or special events, she always contributed something delicious, prepared with love. She lovingly cared for her husband and treasured the special moments spent playing with and cuddling her beloved dog, Bella, whom she adored. She also enjoyed cheering on her favorite football teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos, especially alongside her son Johnny.
Although Phyllis is no longer with us in person, the love she gave, the faith she lived by, and the lives she touched will continue to guide and inspire us. Her legacy will live on through her family, her ministry, and the countless memories shared by those who were blessed to know her. She will be profoundly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished. We are deeply grateful for the years we shared with her, the wisdom she imparted, the faith she demonstrated, and the love she gave so freely and faithfully. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that her life was one of purpose, devotion, and love. As our mother said in her finals days, "To be absent from the body is to be present with our Lord."
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts
