Esther P. Martinez

Esther P. Martinez, 93, of Lakewood Colorado, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 14th surrounded by her family. Born on August 2nd, 1932, in Gardener, Colorado to Jose Manual Martinez and Guadalupe Ortiviz. Esther was a great Homemaker, Nurse’s Aide for a Nursing Home, in her earlier years, The bookkeeper and business owner/partner, for La Flor Restaurant and Cantu’s Auto Body Shop in Pueblo, Colo.

Esther was known for her unique laugh and loving smile! Esther lived life to the fullest, always happy and caring about everyone in her path. She was a proud, loving and devoted mother to eleven children, twenty-four grandchildren and thirty-five great grandchildren. She loved strawberry ice cream and liked to dance, paint, sew, crochet, cook, camp, fish, but most of all she truly enjoyed being around her family and friends! She was a true believer of the Jehovah Witness Faith for most of her life. Among her proudest moments was to always be present at the birth of any and all her grandchildren and great grandchildren!

Esther preceded in death by, Guadalupe “Lupe” Martinez (Mother), Jose M. Martinez (Father), Rodger J. Cantu Sr. (Son), Irene “Cantu” Cantu (Daughter), Joaquine L. Cantu Jr. (Son), Nathan L. Cantu’ (Son), Baby Adrian J Cantu’ (Grandson), Baby Roger Daniel Cantu’ (Grandson), Adrián García (Grandson), and Rodger J. Cantu Jr. (Grandson).

Esther is survived by Elizabeth (Al) Montoya, Lupe (Dave) Lujan, Josie Terrones, Connie Cantu, Paul (Jill) Cantu, Ruth (Jeff) Aragon, and Rachel Cantu.

A Celebration of Life Service, will be held on July 25, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses located at: 4287 S. Eldridge St, Morrison, CO 80465.
