Revia Earline Wilkie, 89, of Arvada, passed away Tuesday, November 29.
She was born in Crockett's Bluff, Arkansas, on May 24, 1927, the third of four children. Revia Earline grew up In Crockett's Bluff and attended high school in St. Charles.
In 1950, Earline attended Draughon Business School (aka: Draughon School of Business) in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was hired by Gates Rubber Company in Denver in 1951, working in the braided hose department and was eventually promoted to supervisor in human resources, and retired from Gates in 1981.
On July 4, 1952, she and police officer Gene Douglas Wilkie of Arvada, Colorado, were married. After their retirement, Doug and Revia Earline moved to Stuttgart, Arkansas, where Earline worked for H & R Block as a Tax preparation professional and Doug volunteered with the local sheriff's department and drove rice trucks to the mill. While living in Stuttgart, they also watched over and helped her elderly parents Mae and Gibson… Earline loved to sew for her granddaughters and to cook wonderful meals for family and friends. Doug worked in his garden and read many Western novels. In 1992, they returned to Arvada.
Revia Earline is survived by her sister Cecil Maxine Inman, daughters Patricia Ann Feinzilberg of South Florida and Janis Loraine Hill of Lakewood, Colorado, three grandchildren (Edward Schafer III, Stephanie Fohl, & Kimberly Feinzilberg) and three great grandchildren (Evalyn Schafer, Easton Fohl, & Eli Fohl). She is preceded in death by her parents Gibson and Mae Inman, two brothers Clarence Gibson Jr and William Clarence, and her husband Gene Douglas.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Funeral service will be held December 12, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 901 S. Sheridan Blvd., Lakewood, Colorado, at 11 a.m. Viewing is one hour prior at 10 a.m. Immediately following the service, we will gather for catered food trays and beverages in the Newcomer reception room. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:15 p.m. at Fort Logan Cemetery, on South Sheridan Blvd, south of Hampden.
