Richard Dennis Chandler

After a two year battle with cancer, Rich went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2016. Richard Dennis Chandler was born on Tuesday, May 10, 1949 to the late Roland and Julia C. (Williams) Chandler. His maternal aunt, Alice (Williams) Watson whom he loved dearly, was also instrumental in his upbringing. Rich was educated in the Philadelphia Public School system before graduating from Downingtown Industrial and Agricultural High School in 1967. Rich became a father for the first time in 1971 when his daughter, Tara Patrice was born. He attended Hampton University and later got a Certificate in Computer Operations from Computer Learning Center in Philadelphia. It was there that he met Sheryl Mack and in 1981 they married. As a result of this union, Rich was blessed with a son, JuJuan Lamar Mack and two sons were born, Richard II and Marques Sean.

He began working Thomas Jefferson University as a computer operator. He worked his way up to become a computer programmer and manager until his skills and work ethic afforded him an opportunity to relocate to Colorado for a promotion with Sigma Systems, Inc. in 1995. It was there that he met and married Cynthia (Watkins) Chandler. Although it was love at first sight, they took their time to create a beautifully blended family until they wed on November 29, 2002. For twenty-one years, Rich and Cynthia enjoyed spending time with family and exploring his love of nature. Rich will always be remembered for his love of travel, guns, fishing, and photography. He will always be known as the best BBQ smoker in Colorado!

Rich was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Julia Chandler; his aunt, Alice Watson; and his brother, Paul Chandler. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Cynthia; his brother Roland Jr (Priscilla) of Philadelphia PA; his children, Tara (Bill) Ballard of Schertz TX; Richard Chandler II of Bowie MD, Marques Chandler of Philadelphia PA, JuJuan Mack of Charlotte NC, Jamia (Jake) White, Chantal (Josh) Harlan, and Angelena (Jesse) Harlan all of Aurora CO; grandchildren, Jordan Symone (Antonio) Ballard-Reid, Jenai Nicole Ballard, Elijah Marques Chandler, Gabrielle Nicole Chandler, Lacey Ann Chandler, Brooklyn Rose Chandler, Ciara Marie Day, Yamani Anysse Ballantyne, Celeste Makayla Mack, Ju'ree Kamil Mack, Judah Xavier Mack, Jayson Immanuel Mack, Sabin Xavier White, Xander Logan White, Aiden Matthew Harlan, Cyntella Ann Harlan; great-granddaughter, Jazelle Shantelle Reid; uncles Lawrence "Sonny" Williams and Willie "Allen" Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
