Richard D. Broadie, 68, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012. Born on December 28, 1943, he was the son of the late William R. Broadie and Helen (Snedden) Broadie. His sharp, inquiring mind and warm heart will be missed by all who knew him. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea, and was a printer in Kansas City, Chicago and Orange County, California. He was an avid chess player and science fiction fan.
Mr. Broadie is survived by his sister: Susan Holben, wife of Jim; brother: Steve Broadie, husband of Barrie, nieces: Bonnie Hogan; Barbara Broadie; Jeanne Moore, wife of Keith; Andrea Randleman; and Ellen Eglsaer, wife of John; nephews David Broadie, husband of Cindy; Michael Broadie, husband of Kristy; and Matthew Broadie. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Laura, and his brothers Michael and Douglas.
Mr. Broadie will be buried with military honors on Friday, June 29 at 1 p.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.
