**In Loving Memory of Richard Gilbert Gonzales**
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Gilbert Gonzales, who left us peacefully on September 17, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on September 24, 1936, in Denver, Colorado, to the late Fred Gonzales and Mary Straton, Richard was a beloved member of his community and a cherished figure in the lives of many.
Richard enjoyed a remarkable life of 59 years with his devoted wife, Beatrice Marie Gonzales. Together, they built a beautiful life in Denver, filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Richard dedicated his career to serving the City and County of Denver Parks & Recreation Division, where his passion for nature and the outdoors shone brightly.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Richard found joy in the great outdoors, but his greatest treasure was the quality time spent with his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and connection that resonates through his six children—Joyce, Gilbert of California, Ray of Denver, Terry of California, Valerie, and Jamie of Denver—as well as his dear sister, Shirley.
Though he was preceded in death by his son, Richard (Rick) of California, and siblings Georgia, Dolly, Loretta, Louie, and Ernie, Richard's spirit lives on in the hearts of numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, along with countless nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
As we honor Richard's life, let us remember a man who was passionate about his interests and devoted to his family. His warmth and spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten. We celebrate the love he shared and the mark he made on all who knew him. Rest in peace, dear Richard.
