Richard Henry Flint

Born October 24, 1923 in Springfield, Colorado.
Died January 9, 2012 in Lakewood, Colorado.
Married Frances Alice Mills on May 29, 1951, in Lamar, Colorado.
Two daughters: Deborah Kay McGinnis (married to Bruce Allen McGinnis) and Zella Elaine Flint.
Three grandchildren: Jonathan Christopher Holmes, Zachary Nicholas Holmes, and Leorah Brooke McGinnis.
A man of many talents including woodworking, sewing, and gardening, Richard (Dick) was always interested in the world around him and read insatiably. He loved his wife of sixty years, Frances, and their daughters and their families, devotedly. He worked hard at many jobs over the years to provide well for his family. From the railroad in Lamar, to owning a donut shop in Greeley, to bread and milk deliveries in Denver, he finally retired in 1985 from the U.S. Post Office.
One of the things he will always be remembered for was the beautiful dresses he sewed for his daughters' weddings and other formal events over the years. He was a perfectionist and it showed in all of his hobbies and activities. He also made furniture for the family home, was always working on home improvement projects, and farmed bees.
After a lengthy illness, Richard Henry Flint passed away in the Collier Hospice Center from Chronic Pulmonary Lung Disease. He left life as he lived it, in his own way and under his own terms. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends, but all are thankful that he is now resting in peace.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 10:30 a.m., at the Green Mountain Christian Church, 10700 W. Exposition Drive, Lakewood, Colorado 80226 (303-985-0754). All are invited to attend.
