Richard Neal Jordan, Sr.
A Celebration of Life
On July 17, 1942, Neal was born in West Virginia
Where he first learned what it meant to be a man
How to assert authority and be the breadwinner
When he left home, he felt certain he had a plan
After being drafted, he enlisted in the U.S. Marines
Being sent to fight in Vietnam was common back then
The Brotherhood of the Proud Few: a fighting machine
Too many painful memories that should be forgotten
Neal chose to make Arlington his home for a while
Where he met Carolyn Jones, whom he hoped to wed
They moved to Aurora, Colorado, making it their domicile
Three sons, two of whom are twins, in his role as head
Even after fifty-seven years of marriage, Neal still found time
To fish, barbecue, and hit the dance floor, he knew how
Socializing with his loved ones at the scene of each crime
On June 5, 2025, Richard N. Jordan, Sr., took his final bow
Carolyn June-Jackson, poet and friend
