Richard L. Carlson, passed away at home in Denver, Colorado on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. He was 82 years old.
Richard is survived by two sons, Robert (Dorothy) Carlson of Denver, Colorado and Richard C. Carlson of Denver, Colorado. Also, Richard is survived by two sisters, Roseanne (Gerald) Aman of West Bend, Wisconsin and Carole (Charles) Trollinger of French Village, Missouri. Survived also by a sisters-in-law, Donna Pilliard of DeSmet, South Dakota and Nellene (Robert) Lemman of Wellington, Colorado. And survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, LaVonne and also his parents.
Born in Madison, South Dakota on November 7, 1929 to Laurence and Fern Carlson. Richard served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army (Signal Corp) Division. Because of an injury Richard was honorably discharged. Richard worked as a farmer for several years of his life. While working also as a finisher carpenter. He later worked several years for the Colorado Department of Highways (Eisenhower Memorial Tunnel). Also, Richard and his wife owned and operated a grocery store and gas station after Richard retired from the Colorado Highway Department.
Richard will be sadly missed by his famiy, and many, many friends.
