Richard Leroy Johnson
Richard Leroy Johnson, 87, was born on March 10, 1924 in Leonardville, Kansas. He passed away on September 10, 2011 ending a brief battle with cancer.
He served in the United States Merchant Marines travelling around the world from 1943 until 1949. Richard was employed by Coors Porcelain Company in Golden for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla; daughter, Fraedie Benedict; five step-children, Susan Murphy, Doug Nelms, Mark Nelms, Judy Nelms and Debbie Kaylor, as well as twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gordon and Orland and a sister, Verna Alice Wiard, of Kansas.
The family will hold a private memorial service and cremation will take place.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Hospice of St. John, 1320 Everett Ct., Lakewood, Colorado 80215.
