Richard Glenn Zinn, 91, of Centennial, Colorado, passed away on April 18, 2024.
 
 
 Richard was born August 9, 1932, to Pearl Margaret Wallace Zinn and Edward Theodore
 
 Zinn in Chicago, Illinois, where he grew up. He graduated from Taft High School, then
 
 attended Wright Junior College for two years before enlisting in the military where he
 
 was stationed in Germany. He was selected to attend Army Security Agent School and
 
 served as a radio traffic analyst for three years. After being honorably discharged, he
 
 went to Colorado where he graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a
 
 Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Minor in Business.
 
 
 His first job took him to Ft. Worth, Texas, kickstarting a 40+-year career. Richard
 
 practiced civil engineering at many companies throughout his career. He had the
 
 opportunity to do land development in the Colorado mountains, Princeville, Hawaii and
 
 DTC. He was very active in the American Society of Civil Engineers, Willows Water
 
 Board, City of Centennial and Hope United Methodist Church.
 
 
 In 1956, Richard met Nancy Herrington at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area on May Day and
 
 they married on December 28, that same year, in Odessa, Texas. They had three
 
 daughters, Chrissie, Kara and Julie, making a home in Ft. Worth, Texas, then Glenwood
 
 Springs, Colorado, finally settling in Denver, Colorado. He truly enjoyed being a dad and
 
 later a granddad, affectionately known as Pops. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed
 
 spending time with his family in the Colorado mountains. He had a calm demeanor,
 
 humility, wisdom and a wonderful sense of humor.
 
 
 Richard is survived by his wife of 67 years, Nancy Jean Herrington Zinn, his three
 
 daughters: Mary Christina Zinn Powers (Joe) of Houston, Kara Susanne Zinn Mazan
 
 (Mark) of Dallas, Julie Margaret Zinn (John Accardo) of Fort Collins. He also leaves
 
 behind five grandchildren: Harvey Powers (Jen), Andy Powers (Katie), Max Mazan
 
 (Rachel), Nikki Mazan and Grace Patti as well as two great-granddaughters: Josie and
 
 Annie Powers.
