In loving memory of Rita Leyva, who departed this Earth on January 16, 2012. Born August 17, 1924, and was a Colorado native. She left behind six children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rita lived in Johnstown, Colorado until the age of 18 and then moved to Denver and remained in Denver all her life. She was a very giving and wonderful person and would go above and beyond to help anyone, especially the family. She was employed with the City and County of Denver, Parks and Recreation Department for thirty years.
She loved sports such as football and baseball. She spent time going to the Colorado Rockies baseball games with her eldest son, Joe, and daughter-in-law, Adeline, and with her niece Irene. She really enjoyed herself and had much fun!
Mom was a beautiful and caring soul and will be greatly missed by everyone, She had a special way about touching the lives of those whom she got to know and worked with in the Denver community.
Thank you so much Mom for all the wonderful years you gave of yourself to your children and to others.
You will be missed but never forgotten.
