My dear RJ,

From the moment you came into this world on October 12, 1989, you filled my life with love, laughter, and pride. Watching you grow was one of the greatest joys of my life, from that little soccer player who ran his heart out on the field, to the karate kid who couldn’t wait to show off his newest belt, to the bright, curious computer geek who could fix anything and make it better.

You carried that same drive and passion into everything you did. As a proud United States Marine, you served your country with courage, strength, and honor. You were always ready to help, always the first to stand up for someone who needed you. You lived by the Marine values: loyalty, integrity, and heart.

After your service, you continued to shine, building a new chapter as a respected engineer at Zayo. You amazed everyone with your intelligence, your problem-solving skills, and your ability to write computer code like it was second nature.

And oh, you were never the most patient man. Sometimes the words that came out of your mouth weren’t exactly soft, but that was just you. Straightforward, honest to the core, and a master of sarcastic humor that could either make people laugh or leave them speechless. Those who knew you loved that about you, your realness, your fire, your heart.

RJ, you touched so many lives, as a son, a brother, a friend, and a man who made this world better just by being in it. I am endlessly proud of the person you became and the life you lived.

Rest easy now, my Marine. Your mission here is complete. You gave your all, and you did it with honor and love. I will carry you with me always, in every sunrise, in every quiet moment, and in every beat of my heart.
