Bob was born on June 8, 1947 in Denver, Colorado to Arthur and Ursula Choury. He had three brothers and two sisters: Darlene Montoya, Sophie Chambers, Art Choury, Clifford Choury and Sam Medina. He grew up in west Denver for most of his life and graduated from Denver North High School after the family relocated to North Denver.
On May 27, 1967 Bob married his high school sweetheart Connie Hernandez. Together they raised their daughters Angie (Linville), Melissa (Choury) and Samantha (Ortiz) in their Sloan's Lake area home.
In January 1974 Bob joined the IBEW Local Union #68 (Electrician's Union). He took great pride in being a Union trade worker and dedicated countless hours serving his fellow "brothers and sisters" on various committees and volunteering for numerous events. His most beloved event was their annual children's Christmas party. His dedication and commitment to this event grew each year along with his vision and his list of helpers. It soon became an annual family tradition carried out with the hard work of his wife, children, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Anyone and everyone was put to work in some way to make sure the event was special for all of the children.
Bob was a true family man. He devoted his life to his family and opened his home to all. There's nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with his family and having everyone together in his home where he would stuff you with food and drink and never accepted that you simply could not eat one more bite. He loved his daughters and sons-in-law: Angie, Loren, Melissa, Steve, Samantha and Joseph with all his heart and had a special relationship with each of them, however, nothing brought him more joy then his grandsons. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his boys, his "lucky 5": Ren, Jaz, Daryus, Jojo and Elijah. Whether it was hockey, soccer, a basketball game, football game, baseball game, t-ball, wrestling match, awards, anything his boys asked him to attend he was there fighting the crowd (at times with the crowd) to cheer them on.
Bob passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Connie. Children Angie (Loren) Linville, Melissa Choury, Samantha (Joseph) Ortiz, grandsons Ren & Jaz Linville, Daryus Choury, Joseph Jr. and Elijah Ortiz, sister Darlene Montoya, brother Sam Medina, Mother-in -law Naborsita Hernandez, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and his beloved dog and loyal companion Kobe. He went home to be with our Savior on July 29, 2012, and is together again with his beloved parents Arthur and Ursula Choury, sister Sophie Chambers brothers Art and Clifford Choury and cousin/best friend Alex Samora.
