Robert Dennis Scott (1934-2013)
Dennis left this world to be with the Lord on January 11, 2013. His spirit continues on in heaven, and we are sure God will be putting Den's gifts to use in building and preparing His house for his beloved family.
Along with Marilyn, the love of his life, he taught his children the value of honesty, integrity, loyalty, hard-work, and devotion to family through his actions and words. Through his stubborn determination his legacy will live on through his grateful children.
He was a man of few words, but his expression of love and passion for life were nonetheless strong and fervent. He shared with us the beauty of music and song through his voice, the beauty of creation and art through his skilled hands, the thirst for knowledge through his affection for reading, and his wonderment and hope for the future through his constant exploration of technology.
Dennis was born in Hibbing, Minnesota. He served four (4) years in the Air Force. After leaving the Air Force he worked for UNIVAC and Minneapolis Honeywell each for a short period of time. He then went to work for the Department of Defense for 33 years. During this time he called several different places home, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Greenfield, Wisconsin; Burnsville, Minnesota and Littleton, Colorado. While living in Greenfield he served as a volunteer fireman.
After his retirement, with his wife Marilyn, they completed the building of their mountain home in Indian Mountain, Colorado; where they spent their summers for the past 20 years.
He was known by many names: Dennis, Den, Robert, Bob, Scotty, Grandpa, Uncle Den, or Dad. All that new him will surely miss him, and will be anxious to see him again when the day comes that we shall be held in his arms again.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn and his six (6) children: Jacqueline (Tim), Laureen, (Michael), Karen (John), Christopher (Sheri), Michele (Sean) and Rebecca and eleven (11) grandchildren and (7) seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name to the:
