Robert E. Lyall, Jr.

November 6, 1944 — December 29, 2014

Robert E. Lyall, Jr., 70, of Lakewood, CO, passed away December 29, 2014.

He was born November 6, 1944 in Albany, New York, the son of Robert and Marjorie (Fish) Lyall, Sr.

Bob grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He attended Annunciation Catholic School through the eighth grade, and then went on to West Technical High School, where he graduated in 1963. In 1963, he enlisted in the army and served until he was honorably discharged in 1966. On September 12, 1964 he married Mary-Alice Rensler in Cleveland, OH. After leaving the army, and having a family with two young sons, he promptly found employment with the New York Central Railroad. He worked as a signal maintainer until 1970. In 1970 he worked various jobs before making the decision to move to Colorado for greater opportunities. Arriving in Colorado in 1972, Bob found employment as a house painter. He continued in this business, creating his own company, Shamrock Decorating, until 1999. In 2001, he decided to go back to work and found employment at Lowes. He still was working with Lowes when he passed away on December 29th.
Bob was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed watching his sons play sports, rarely missing an opportunity, and always encouraged them to do their best. Later in his life, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren do many of the same sports, but having three granddaughters, he had to learn to appreciate a few different activities like dance and gymnastics. He still watched with the same enthusiasm as a football fan. He was very proud of every one of them.

Bob was a great story teller and loved to make people laugh. His stories were famous for exaggeration and humor. He could control a room for hours sharing his crazy experiences and funny life lessons. Bob was always the life of the party. He truly made a difference for many individuals and often opened his home to friends and family in need. He was always supportive to anyone who asked him for help.

He will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.

He is survived by his Wife; Mary-Alice Lyall; Two Sons, Robert Michael (Marlene) Lyall, James Paul Lyall; Two Grandsons, Matthew M. Waller, Thomas James Lyall; Three Granddaughters, Anne Marie Lyall, Madison Jane Lyall, Mackenzie Kristine Lyall; Two Brothers, James (Patricia) Lyall, Patrick Lyall; Sister, Madeliene (Michael) Delaney. He is preceded in death by his Parents and Sister, Linda Lyall.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic School, 630 Avenue D West, Kingman, KS 67068.
