Robert Eugene Adams, 84, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 after a long and brave battle with cancer.

He was born in Glenwood, IA to Faye & Alta Adams on October 16, 1929. Robert entered the U.S. Air Force in 1947 and continued to serve for 23 years.

He married Dolores Emerick in September 1957 in West Des Moines, IA and later that year was transferred to Bartlesville, OK. In July 1958 their daughter, Diane, was born. Then in February 1960, their son, John, was born. In 1962, the U.S. Air Force transferred Robert to Okinawa, Japan for 18 months. After returning from Okinawa, was then transferred to Lowery AFB in Denver, CO. In 1963, was transferred to the U.S. Air Force Academy working in the photography lab where he fell in love with photography (his wife and children were his favorite to photograph). In 1968, Robert applied for and received a Warrant Officer's Commission and transferred to U.S. Army.

Robert served two tours in Viet Nam and is a multiple award recipient receiving the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and several Meritorious Service Awards. After retiring from the U.S. Army, he worked at Mine & Smelter until his full retirement in 1987.
Robert, his wife, and children enjoyed many years of camping, fishing, and visiting the local campsites in Colorado. His life passions were photography, building and flying radio controlled airplanes, and spending quality time with his family.
Robert is survived by his wife, Dolores, two children, Diane and John, and grandchildren, Michelle and Kaitlyn.
