Robert Roy Heth

Robert “Bob” Roy Heth, joyfully entered into His Heavenly Father’s arms on Sunday morning, July 27, 2025, at the age of 79. Born to the late Gust and Violet Heth, he was raised in Denver, Colorado and lived on Morrison Road in the Westwood neighborhood. He was brought up in the Lutheran faith and attended Redeemer Lutheran church and school. He graduated from Denver Lutheran High in 1965 where he was a high-performing multi-sport athlete.

Bob entered the Army in 1965 and served as an MP, stationed at Kaiserslautern in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1971.He fell in love with Katherine Elizabeth (nee Ziegler) and they were married on April 20, 1969. They spent a loving 56 years of marriage living in the same house in the Washington Park neighborhood. Bob showed his love for his family by building and remodeling the home where they raised their 2 children, Kimberley and Garrett. He was a dedicated father, who, alongside his wife, was always present at their children's school and extracurricular activities. They recall, many fun road trips throughout the United States.

Bob enjoyed spending time with relatives, friends and neighbors throughout his life. The Ziegler family adopted him as their own. He loved being included in every Ziegler family activity.Bob shared fond memories of riding along with his father who was a Conductor for the Rio Grande railroad. He continued that family tradition when he and his wife, Katherine, achieved a unique goal: riding the final stretches of every Amtrak rail line in the United States. His love for trains also extended to his personal life, as he enjoyed spending time with his N-gauge model train set.

Bob was very present in the lives of his five grandchildren. Preston Chase (23), Hunter Bryce (19), Cody Ashton (17), Zoe Faith (17), and Kiley Grace (15) share stories of an energetic and loving grandfather. He enjoyed every opportunity to spend time with them. Bob also demonstrated a strong work ethic as a machinist at King Soopers. He would ride his bike to and from work every day, including through the infamous Blizzard of '82. 

He was blessed to be able to retire 20 years before his death. During those decades, he continued to pour his time and skill into the house and, together with Katherine, completed driving every county road in the state of Colorado. Bob served his church well. He was a member of University Hills Lutheran church for 56 years. As a Head Elder and an usher, he was a gentle and quiet leader that people were drawn to. Bob was considerate and kind and had a unique, dry sense of humor. 

The memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at University Hills Lutheran Church on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with a luncheon to follow. Katherine requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to University Hills Lutheran Church.

17 months prior to his death, Bob and Katherine’s son went to Heaven. It was during this difficult time that Bob evidenced his unwavering faith in the promise of eternal life. We share in the joy that Bob is rejoicing in heaven with his son and all the saints. We live with this certain hope for our future as well.

We are left with the gift of Garth’s daughters, and along with Kimberley’s sons, we share memories of the man God created who had many wonderful qualities. We were graced with his presence for moments. May we continue to find peace that surpasses all understanding, confident in the knowledge that he rests in the arms of his loving Savior.
