Robert L. Sage

January 8, 1926 — June 28, 2015

Robert was born in Salida Colorado and he lived on a farm where his father raised cattle and crops. His family was lucky because they had running water at home, when many did not. His family survived the dust bowl years of the great depression but with war imminent they left the farm and moved to Idaho in 1940. They later moved to Cheyenne where he graduated from Cheyenne High School. In 1944 he enlisted in the US Navy. He served at Fort MacArthur and the 11th Naval District Headquarters in California where he was responsible for monitoring potential attacks from Japanese submarines and Air-Sea Rescues off the California coast. In 1946 he was honorably discharged from the US Navy. After being discharged from the Navy, Bob returned to Denver where he attended Barnes Business School. After his graduation he worked for a couple different employers and he eventually went to work for Western Electric, where he worked for 33 years.

Bob was very active in several Masonic Organizations throughout the years. He belonged to the Royal Arch Masons, Cryptic Masons, The Denver Consistory, Rose Croix Memorial Service Team, El Jebel Shrine, and also as Master of Weston Masonic Lodge #22. In 2011 he received the highest degree in the Scottish Rite, the 33°. In addition he and Sharon belonged to The Order of the Amaranth where they served as Grand Royal Patron and Grand Royal Matron and The Order of Eastern Star where they served as Worthy Patron and Worth Matron. Bob loved being associated with the Masonic family and met several wonderful friends there. He was very proud of the philanthropic work done by these organizations.

The other source of joy and pride was his family. He was very proud of his two sons and enjoyed celebrating in their lives. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed nothing more than to learn what they were doing in their lives and visiting with them. He was also very close to his two sisters and their families and would call or visit them as often as he could.

Robert is survived by his sister Leona (Virginia) Smith, Wife Sharon, Sons Daryl and Jeff Sage; 7 grandchildren, Elizabeth Kopp, Kelly Magnuson, Chris Smith, Kathrine Smith, Levi Sage, David Smith, and Jessica Sage; 6 Great Grandchildren, Charlotte Lovvorn, Eden Eherlich, Jordan Sage, Elias Eherlich, Vivian Kopp, and Penelope Smith. He was preceded in Death by his parents Lloyd and Esther Sage and his sister Miriam Crymble.
