Robert Joseph Lefebvre "Bob LaFay", 87, of Aurora, passed away February 26, 2017.
He was born May 30, 1929 in Worcester, Massachusetts, the son of Joseph and Georgianna (Perreault) Lefebvre. He attended Worcester Junior College. On November 25, 1954 he married Dorothy Mahan, of Worcester, Massachusetts.
Bob spoke both French and English. He met his one and only Sweetheart of 51 years, dancing the Jitterbug.
Although born to Canadian immigrants and raised in New England, the minute he saw the Rocky Mts and skies, he fell in love with Colorado, built a Homestead where the family lived for 50 years, and never went back.
He was a loyal husband and devoted family man with a charming smile that welcomed both friends and strangers.
At 87 years, Bob has held as many fascinating jobs as he had years of age.
A professional author of several books, his gifts also included kindness, a compassion for all creatures, a delightful sense of humor, and colorful imagination for weaving tall tales and stories.
Bob enjoyed Europe, theatre, musicals, and dancing; he'd dreamed of traveling to experience all the world's great operas.
"Daddio" was cool; he loved art, nature, watching birds, long walks, the weather, the Tango, cigars, and good food. And lots of cookies.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Rebecca (Paul Tower) Lefebvre and Karyn Lefebvre; four grandchildren, April (Aaron) Smith, Leah (Joshua) Burton, Sean Cassatt, and Seth Cassatt; five great-grandchildren, Ezekiel Smith, Madeline Smith, Silas Smith, Emery Smith, and Galilea Burton. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M. Lefebvre; his three brothers, Albert Lefebvre, Tom Lefebvre and Richard Lefebvre; and his parents, Joseph and Georgianna Lefebvre.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Denver Hospice, 501 S. Cherry Street, Denver, CO 80246.
