Robert (Bob) James Mabie, 91, passed away April 23, 2026. Bob was born July 31, 1934 to Claude and Lucile Mabie in Grand Junction, CO. After high school, Bob spent 4 years in the Air Force then returned to Grand Junction, where a friend introduced him to his Sunshine, Catherine (Cathy). After a short courtship, they married in 1959, then moved to Aurora, where Bob spent his career as an airplane mechanic for Frontier and Continental Airlines. Bob and Cathy raised three wonderful children, Philip (Brenda), Teresa (Mark Robinson) and Christopher (Tanya). Bob was blessed with four grandchildren, Amanda (Ryan Evans), Megan (Matt Mialaret), Bobbie Kay and Robert (aka Robby). Bob was great grandpa to Callen, Conner and Lyanna.
Bob enjoyed flying RC airplanes, playing scrabble and cards. He loved watching Survivor, Smackdown, and the Colorado Rockies, win or lose. His 66-year marriage to Cathy was the example of how love should be. They were never apart, and their love for each other brought smiles to family, friends and even strangers. Bob loved being around family, even if it was just a phone call to check in. We will dearly miss him every day of our lives, but we smile when we imagine his reunion in heaven with his family who passed before.
