"Pilito"
Robert Neil Grigson was born in 1975. He was named after his grandfather and Neil Young, the latter being something he didn't appreciate much.
Like his grandfather, he was quick witted and had a ready sense of humor. When he graduated from kindergarten, the ceremony concluded with this possibility…and someday, you might see me on the Johnny Carson show. He thoroughly enjoyed playing loud mariachi music in the car much to my consternation, but it made him laugh. And, like Neil Young, he had a tender heart of gold. He was helpful and compassionate with family and friends.
He once babysat a coworker's newborn son…his first babysitting gig. He was the first to hold Cooper, our cousin, Rachel's third son. He became Cooper's godfather.
He loved a variety of music from Frank Sinatra, Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass, and Chris Botti to Santana, Pink Floyd, and Fleetwood Mac as well as Sade and Nora Jones. He enjoyed techno music at Red Rocks. He liked patronizing the Church.
He loved movies especially the Star Wars films and comedies.
He enjoyed funny man, Carlos Mencias.
He loved art and sketched as well as painted beautifully. Home décor was also important to him; cleaning not so much.
Mostly, he loved people: family, friends, and dog.
There'll never be anyone else like him. We were blessed to know him.
