Robert Greubel, of Denver, possessing hope in God, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015. Bob grew up in Racine, Wis. He had a wonderful childhood spending most of his free time playing outside and getting into mischief with the neighborhood guys. He spent 4 years in the Army Air Corps as a pilot in WWII, then married his sweetheart Lorraine Rahn (also from Racine) in 1946. He worked as an advertising artist his entire career, and retired from Gates Rubber Co. in 1987.
He was a self-described plane and car nut, who owned and restored many cars and built many models. He especially had a great love for MGs and '65-'66 Mustangs, owning and restoring many in the '70s and '80s. He was also an avid outdoorsman and traveler, taking his family on many trips in the '60s and '70s. After he retired, he and his wife took many trips and in and outside the country. He also enjoyed skiing, gardening, reading, painting, RVing, car and plane shows and museums.
He was preceded in death by his wife who passed on to be with her Savior 8 years ago. He is survived by his son, Bob Greubel of Portland, OR; daughter, Chris (Ron) Anderson of Greeley, CO; and Scott (Karen) Greubel of Denver; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He will truly be missed by his family and Heidi, his dog.
Visitation with Bob's family will be 6-8pm on Thurs. Apr. 9 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Lakewood. Private interment will be at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Bob's memory to Agape Hospice, 6041 S. Syracuse Way, Ste. 220, Greenwood Village, CO 80111.
