Beloved husband of Helen, father of David Chatham (Liz Tapp), Richard Cheatham (Judy), Carolyn Candee (William), Nancy Abeyta (Salvador) and Robert B. Cheatham. Grandfather of Christie Candee Fox (Tripp), Ryan Candee, Tony Chatham, Zach Cheatham and Tristan Cheatham; great grandfather of Mackinzie Fox.
World War II Veteran, served in the U.S. Army in U.S., Europe and Japan. Decorations included two bronze battle stars and 30mm Rifle Sniper Rank.
B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin, 1943; MA from Rutgers University, 1949.
Retired from Johns-Manville Corporation, part-time professor at Rutgers University, Loretto Heights University and the University of Colorado at Denver.
Private family service at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
