Robin Marie Mccormick
February 9, 1955 — May 22, 2014
Robin was born on February 9, 1955 in Delta, Colorado. She and Tim met in Grand Junction, Colorado and married in Scottsdale, Arizona on April 1, 1989. They raised their family in Tempe, Arizona. She passed away at age 59, with odds stacked against her after a year-long battle with lymphoma.
For many years, she was an excellent leader to countless boys in the Cub Scouts. She was an avid skier, even on volunteer ski patrol at Powderhorn Mountain Resort. Hiking, wakeboarding, and yoga were among her favorite activities.
She was active in her church and Book Club. A voracious reader, when she joined the Book Club, it was non-alcoholic. By the time she took over, it was known as "The Women of the Wine and Words."
She loved animals, especially her dogs: Katie and Elliot. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Boulder Humane Society or your local no-kill animal shelter.
It was Robin's wish to be cremated and her ashes scattered in her two favorite places, the Flatirons and the Arizona White Mountains. In her honor, Tim and the boys are planning a trip to Peru to hike Machu Picchu, which she always dreamed of seeing. We're sure that a part of her wants to stay there.
The Colorado service will be Wednesday, May 28th at 11:00 am at Flatirons Church, 355 W South Boulder Road in Lafayette, CO. We invite all Arizona residents and out-of-town guests to join us for the larger celebration of life in Arizona at Mountain Park Community Church, 2408 E Pecos Road in Ahwatukee, AZ on Thursday, June 12th at 11:00 AM.
