Roger Armstrong

July 25, 1963 — October 14, 2017

Roger Daniel Armstrong, 54 died peacefully, surrounded by his wife Cathy and his loved ones, on Saturday October 14, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents Toshiko and Daniel Armstrong. Survived by his sister Bonnie Cusatis, wife Cathy, mother-in-law Rita (Sal), stepsons Zac and Elijah, sister in laws Beth (Alex), Teri (Eric), brother in laws Tim (Sandy), Jeff (Adrienna) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roger was born in Washington DC on July 25, 1963. He grew up in a suburb of Philadelphia and graduated from Penn State.

He started his career at the Philadelphia AIDS Project, relocated to Denver in the late 90's and continued to work in the AIDS/HIV field at Colorado AIDS Project. He was the Executive Director of the Temple Events Center hosting many community events. He joined the Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods-CHUN, first as a board member, then as Director of the Capitol Hill People's Fair. He became Executive Director of CHUN in 2008, serving for nine years. He served on several boards and committees and was dedicated to the community.

Aside from his numerous accomplishments he was a gentle, kind and humble friend to many. He loved softball, cooking, his home town of Philly, traveling, beaches and scuba diving. He will be sorely missed by many.
