Roger Ellis Bottomley, 85, of Aurora, CO passed away Wednesday March 30, 2016 peacefully at home, surrounded by his wife and sister.

He was born to the late Harry and Mildred Bottomley , March 24, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois. Roger graduated from Fordson High School, Dearborn, Mi. where he lived and worked until his transfer to Denver, Co. in 1980 with United Airlines. He retired from United in 1996.

He also was a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force during the Korean War, serving at Andrews Air Force Base and Hickham Air Base in Honolulu, Hi.

Throughout the years, family, friends and travel were very important... Also his membership and participation in the Rocky Mountain Thunderbird Car Club. After retirement from United Airlines, Roger volunteered at Denver Int'l Airport for 14 years as an ambassador. Live Laugh and Love came naturally to this kind man, whether at home in the service or at his job. Roger's last request was to go home to be with his 3 rescue cats, Angel, Abigail and Krystal.

Roger is survived by his wife of 30 years, Robin Soddy Bottomley; Daughter, Lynn Helm of Dearborn, Mi. and grandchildren Ross English Bottomley, and Grace Evelyn Helm also of Dearborn. Step daughter Melissa Bailey Grigsby of Aurora,Co; grandchildren Kyle, Amanda, Shelby and Ryan Grigsby all of Aurora, Co. His Sister Donella and Dennis Laskowsky of Portage, Mi; and his brother Robert and Edna Bottomley of Macedonia, Ohio. Roger is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The service will be April 18, 2016 at 2 pm Ft. Logan National Cemetery
