Died November 3rd, 2013

Roger is succeeded by his only son, Christopher Lee Burns

Roger used to joke that he was a true southern gentlemen and a dirty old man all rolled into one. In many was this was very true. Roger had a heart he wore on his sleeve. He was friend to all. He was the kind of person that would give a stranger the shirt off his back.

Roger loved playing pool. It was more then a hobby it as a way of life for him. We shared our happiest times while playing pool together. He had a wild side about him while still maintaining his respect for others.

Roger was, like his son, among the last of a dying breed. Warm and caring, always fair and kind to others. He always put others above himself no matter how much he was hurting or in pain. He was always there for those who needed him.

He was well liked by people all over the state. There was not a bar north of colorado Springs that he couldn't walk into and someone knew him. He was a defender of those too weak to defend themselves but he still knew how to have a good time. He never failed to make you smile when you were sad.

Roger had a rare gift. He was able to see the good in people no matter how evil they seemed. He had hate for no one. He was like a big teddy bear, kind and gentle, yet fierce and loyal.

Roger lived his life every day with dignity. He was an amazing and wonderful father. He would bring out the best in people's traits they never thought they had. His patience showed no limits.

He was an avid historian and sci fi nut and he was dang proud of it too. He proudly wore the nick name "Captain Wrong Way" which his motorcycle club pinned on him because he had a habit of going the wrong way.

So here's to you Captain Wrong Way! Time for warp maneuvers. God speed, you will be missed!
