Rosemary Ann Benson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, 84, of Thornton, passed away January 1, 2015 with her family at her side.
She was born February 28, 1930 in Grand Island, Nebraska, the daughter of the late Stacy and Rosa (Schock) Tondreau. At 12, her mother and three sisters relocated to Denver, CO. She was a graduate of Manuel High School in Denver, CO. On August 12, 1950 she married the late Weston (Benny) Benson, of Denver, Colorado.
Rosemary was a baker at many Denver Bakeries while raising children, then worked at Western Electric then retired from AT&T as an assembly technician in 1990. In her retirement, Rosemary enjoyed volunteering in various positions and at St. Anthony's hospital performing hearing tests on newborns. She loved a good laugh and enjoyed socializing with her intimate group of friends.
Rosemary was an active and Chartered Member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Life Member Pioneer AT&T and Life Member of Women's Auxiliary VFW.
Rosemary is survived by her children, Diana L. Vars and Thomas (Marylyn) Benson; Four Grandchildren, Rhonda K. (Greg ) Hein, Lisa A. (Rob) Martin, Thomas W. Benson, Heidi L. (Andy) Jarski; nine great-grandchildren, Amanda L. Hein, Kaitlyn M. Hein, Grayson S. Matthews, Levi A. Martin, Thaddeus T. Benson, Hannah D. Benson, Autumn R. Benson, Lincoln A. Jarski, Garrett W. Jarski; three great great-grandchildren, Mason E. Hein, Bailey K. Cox and Zayden Matthews. She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and her husband, Weston B. Benson.
