Roseli H. Prudek, known commonly as Rosi, passed away at 54 years old on September 26th, 2025, surrounded by family at the Aurora South Hospital and Medical Center, after graciously choosing to donate her organs. She was born on May 9th, 1971, in the city of Ipora Do Oeste, Santa Catarina, Brazil.
Rosi is survived by her twins, Matthew and Tracy Prudek. Her one brother and two sisters Mauri Hilgert, Noeli Hilgert, and Merci Wuttke. And finally, her ex-husband, Mirko Prudek.
She was a loving and hardworking mother and homemaker. She cared deeply about her house and worked hard to make it into a home. But, her most well-known love was her garden: a large tree surrounded by a variety of flowers with a variety of needs; it often received compliments from people who walked by. It’s her legacy, and her family will work hard to keep it maintained.
Rosi also spent a lot of her time baking and cooking. From simple pastries like cookies or bundt cakes, to far harder dinners like galinhada and stroganoff, she was no stranger to making delicious food. Sometimes dinner would come out late at night, likely because she was still working on her garden, but it was always worth the wait.
Rosi was peaceful, but never quiet. She often sang to her birds, listened to music on a speaker while she gardened, and loved to dance Zumba. She always had a story to share, whether it be to a stranger at the grocery store, or to her family at the dinner table. She was boisterous, friendly, generous, and strong-willed, and without her, the world is far too quiet.
While she may not be with us physically, her memory will live on forever in the hearts of the people who had the joy of knowing her. It will live on in her flowers, which will bloom every year, their roots forever strengthened by her hard work and her hands. Thank you for everything you’ve done Rosi.
