Russell A. "Tim" Donnelly, 85, was born June 1, 1928, in Medicine Bow, Wyo., to Joseph and Ora Donnelly. He died June 10, 2013, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, after a long battle with his health.
He grew up in Medicine Bow and as a young man moved to Rawlins, WY. There he met Emma M. Praeker and they married on August 8, 1948.
They moved to Cheyenne, where Russell worked at a variety of jobs. He became a professional truck driver and a theatre projectionist. He retired from Burlington Northern Trucking after 50 years of service. Russell was a lifetime member of the Teamsters. He was an avid Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies fan.
He and Emma were members of First Baptist Church of Cheyenne and are members of the Mountain States Baptist Church of Thornton, CO.
Russell was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Donnelly, mother Ora Donnelly, daughter Dorothy Donnelly Booker, infant brother Johnny Michael Donnelly, sisters Josephine Allen, Peggy Ann Mead, Betty Lawliss, and brother Dennis Donnelly.
He is survived by his wife, Emma, of Colorado Springs, daughter Ruth Westerfield (Bill) of Cheyenne, and daughter Nancy Patterson of Colorado Springs, eight grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. He also had many grand nieces and nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephews.
Arrangements and services are being held June 17, 2013, at 2:00 pm, at Newcomers Mortuary, 901 S. Sheridan, Denver, CO. Interment of the urn will be at Medicine Bow, WY at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity in Russ' name.
