She attended North Lima High School all 12 years, graduating in 1952. She attended Eastern Mennonite College, Harrisoxburg, Virginia, for one and a half years. In March 1959 she came to La Junta, Colorado for LPN training and graduated in March, 1960. After working as an LPN several years in La Junta, she moved to Denver in 1966 for further schooling. It was at this time that Ruth started attending Beth Eden Baptist Church under the pastorate of Dr. Earl E. Matteson at 32nd and Lowell. Ruth made a profession of faith in Christ as a child at age 10 but went through many years of doubting her salvation. She did receive assurance of salvation a number of years later and was baptized by Dr. Matteson in 1967, although she had been baptized as a child of 11 by pouring.
She has been a member of Beth Eden since 1967.
Ruth has been an LPN through the years, having worked in Swedish Medical Center for eighteen and a half years. Since then she has worked in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. She loved children and worked several years in before school care at Beth Eden Baptist School. She has many wonderful friends at Beth Eden.
