JoAnne Bergeon
(July 8, 1925 – January 1, 2012)
Born July 8th, 1925 in Ithaca, Michigan, Ruth JoAnne Bergeon ended her battle with cancer on January 1st, 2012. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarke Chandler Bergeon. She is survived by her two children, Christopher Read Bergeon and Victoria Bergeon Fogerty and by her six grandchildren, Sean Michael Fogerty, Colin Thomas Fogerty, Liam Walker Fogerty, Andrew John Bergeon, Matthew Chandler Bergeon and Olivia Tyler Bergeon.
JoAnne lived a passionate and adventurous life full of the love of family and friends. She loved children and valued education which led her to pursue a career in teaching. Her adventurous spirit brought her overseas to teach children of American service men and women in Germany, and led her and Clarke to Colorado from Michigan where they quickly settled into life in the West. A dedicated, energetic and beloved teacher, JoAnne taught in the Jefferson County school system for over 30 years.
Outside of her career, JoAnne enjoyed music, art, ballet, and hockey. More than anything, she loved socializing with her many friends, her children, and grandchildren. Her unique ability to be present in each moment and in each relationship together with her talent for finding the wonder and joy in every experience is an inspiration to us all. She will be greatly missed.
Please help us celebrate and honor JoAnne's wonderful life this Saturday, January 7th at the Arvada Center from 2pm – 5pm. In lieu of flowers, JoAnne would appreciate donations to Oxfam America or to the Colorado Symphony.
