Ruth Ann Norwood

Ruth Ann Norwood, born on August 12, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, left this world on January 10, 2026, in Aurora, Colorado. She was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth and spirit greatly enriched the lives of those around her.

Ruth dedicated many years of her life to her career at Walmart, where her engaging personality and work ethic shone brightly. Upon her retirement, she often reflected on the friendships she made and the memories she created during those years. Her love for life did not end with her career; instead, it blossomed in so many ways. Ruth had a great sense of humor that could light up any room and was always curious about the world around her. She had a loving nature, which endeared her to everyone she met.

Family was at the heart of Ruth's life. She loved to eat and spent joyful times with her family, making countless memories that will be cherished forever. She was the loving mother of Tyra (Les) Lallo and a doting grandmother to Angela, AJ, Manny, and Mychel. Additionally, she embraced every moment with her six great-grandchildren, becoming a beloved matriarch who found immense joy in their lives.

Ruth’s passions included being an avid reader and reveling in the beauty of the outdoors. Whether it was losing herself in a novel or taking leisurely strolls surrounded by nature’s wonders, she found peace and happiness in simple pleasures.

Preceding her in death were her beloved parents, Catherine and Jefferson Norwood, her brother Riley Norwood, and her sister Rose Dyson. They, along with all the memories they shared, will forever hold a special place in her heart.

Ruth Ann Norwood’s legacy continues through her family, a testament to the love and laughter she brought into their lives. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
