Ruth O'Cana Garcia

On 9 April 2016, at 8 p.m., our loving Mother journeyed home to Heaven and joined with our Father (her husband), and her family members , who left before her. Born in Carnero Creek Colorado, on 14 October 1928, to Gabriel and Rebeca O'Cana. Raised a farm girl Ruth helped her father tend to their milking cows and chickens as well as other various farm duties. At an early age, she learned the art of being an excellent cook. She attended elementary school in center Colorado and worked as a nurse's assistant at the hospital in Del Norte Colorado. Ruth and Robert married on 11 June 1947 in Center Colorado. Together they raised 10 children. Ruth worked as a farm hand; planting, harvesting and sorting potatoes. After relocating to Denver Ruth cared for her parents until they both passed on in the 1970s. While living in Salt Lake City, she worked as a janitor cleaning various buildings and was supervisor for a janitorial company at a retail store. Ruth enjoyed numerous hobbies such as crocheting, sewing, and cooking. But, mostly cooking and caring for her family and friends. Ruth loved to have her grandchildren around especially the new babies of the family.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Robert R, Garcia, her parents, Gabriel and Rebeca O'Cana, her siblings; Fred and Mary O'Cana, Dorothy and Johnny Chacon, Josephine and Alex Brito, Walter O'Cana, Buddy and Elsie O'Cana.

Ruth is survived by her Siblings; Lucy (O'Cana) Valerio residing in Ogden Utah, Paul O'Cana residing in Monte Vista Colorado.

Her Children; Maxine (Garcia) and Larry Martinez from Denver, Ruby (Garcia) and Robert Gallegos from Albuquerque New Mexico, Fred and Lynn Garcia from Denver, Ruth (Garcia) and Gifford Martinez from Lakewood Colorado, Theodore and Susan Garcia from Denver, Gabriel Garcia from Denver, Walter and Mary Garcia from Spring Valley California, Trinidad (Garcia) and Kenny Gonzales from Lakewood Colorado, Rodney and Linda Garcia from Denver Colorado, Beatrice (Garcia) and Courtney Farrior from West Jordan, Utah.

Her Grand Children; Herman and Wanda Martinez, Yvette (Martinez) and Charlie Rodriguez, Cheryl Martinez, Karyn (Sisneros) Dominguez, Juan and Lucy Sisneros, Fernando Gallegos, Orlando Gallegos, Fred Garcia Jr., Tammy Garcia, Joshua Garcia, Zachariah Garcia, Melissa (Jones) and Jason Vaz, Quincy III and Veronica Jones, Ivan and Rachel Jones, Gina Garcia, Theodore Garcia Jr., Christopher Garcia, Timothy and Lauren Garcia, Michael Garcia, Rebeca Garcia, Monica (Garcia) and Ray Trujillo, Amanda (Gonzales) and Andrew Plucinski, Kenny Gonzales Jr., Theresa Garcia, Rodney Jr. and Cristal Garcia, Nichole Farrior, Courtney Farrior Jr., Derrick Farrior. Residing in Denver, Salt Lake City, Aurora, Lakewood, Commerce City, and Spring Valley California.

Additionally Ruth has Seventy Eight Great Grandchildren and Fifty One Great Great Grand Children.
