Obituary for Sandra Camill Apodaca

March 19, 1948 – November 15, 2025

Sandra Camill Apodaca, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Born on March 19, 1948, in Denver, Colorado, Sandra grew into a woman whose gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and deep compassion left a lasting imprint on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Sandra was the cherished daughter of Cleophis Manzaneras and stepdaughter of Daniel Manzaneras. Throughout her career as a paraprofessional, she devoted herself to supporting children with patience, love, and understanding. Her work touched countless young lives, and her legacy continues in the hearts of the students she guided and the colleagues she inspired.

Family was the center of Sandra’s world. She found her greatest joy in spending time with those she loved, whether gathered at home or traveling together through the beautiful Colorado mountains she treasured so dearly. Her warmth made every moment feel special, and her laughter could bring light to even the hardest days.

Sandra is survived by her devoted daughter, Regina Sisneros, and her loving son, Jason Gonzales. She also leaves behind three adored grandchildren—Justine Padilla, Leah Torrez, and Darien Gonzales—and one precious great-grandchild, Noel Mendez, who brought her immense joy. Sandra is further survived by her sister, Bernadette Gonzalez and brother, Rocky Sandoval, her ex-husband and dear lifelong friend Frederick Gonzales, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved deeply. She is preceded in death by her mother, Cleophis, her sisters Jenny and Lillian, and her niece Loretta, all of whom she now joins in eternal peace.

Sandra will be remembered for her generosity, her gentle heart, and her unwavering love for her family. Her memory will continue to guide, comfort, and inspire those she leaves behind. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit remains in every mountain breeze, every cloud, every shared story, and every life she touches.
